TinctureTally is a free inventory tool built for herbalists. Track your tinctures and dried herbs, log prescriptions for your clients, and never get caught short mid-formula again.
Free forever. No credit card. Made for qualified herbalists.
Most herbalists track their inventory in Excel, a notebook, or from memory. It works — until the day you're mid-consultation and realise you have 30ml of Valerian left, your Passionflower ran out last week, and your next order from Planta Medica is still sitting in your drafts folder.
TinctureTally takes that weight off your shoulders. It's the tool we wish had always existed for herbalists: purpose-built, beautifully simple, and completely free.
Your full product database, organised the way a herbalist thinks. Botanical name, supplier, ratio, alcohol percentage, plant part — everything in one place. At-a-glance stock status tells you instantly what's OK, what's running low, and what needs ordering today.

Add each ingredient, set the amounts, and TinctureTally does the rest: it subtracts from your inventory automatically and generates a clean, formatted prescription record ready to copy into your EHR. Whether you're making a tincture formula or a dried herb infusion, the whole thing takes under a minute.
Formatted for Konfidens — copy to your consultation notes in two clicks.

When stock gets low, TinctureTally groups your low-inventory products by supplier and generates a ready-to-send order email for each one. Copy, paste, send. It even knows which supplier to contact for each product.

Save any dispense as a template and reuse it whenever you need it. Pull one up, adjust amounts if needed, and dispense — your inventory updates as always.
Keep contact details for Planta Medica, Avicenna, Baldwins, or whoever you source from — linked directly to the products they supply.
Every prescription you log is saved with the date, client reference, and full ingredient list. Pull it up any time or use it as a starting point for a repeat prescription.
Add your products — botanical name, supplier, current stock, and the threshold at which you want a low-stock alert. Import from your existing spreadsheet or start fresh.
Dispensing a formula? Build it in TinctureTally and your stock updates automatically. Restocked a supplier order? Log it in seconds and your numbers stay accurate.
Your dashboard shows you what needs attention: low stock, recent dispensing, and your most-used herbs at a glance. Reorder emails are ready when you need them.
Made by Konfidens
TinctureTally is built and maintained by the team behind Konfidens — the intuitive EHR and practice management platform for private practitioners. We built it because inventory management kept coming up as one of the biggest pain points in daily practice, and nothing purpose-built existed for herbalists. So we made it. And we made it free.
Konfidens + TinctureTally
TinctureTally works beautifully as a standalone app, but pairs even more powerfully with Konfidens — the intuitive EHR built for private practitioners. If you need something to handle bookings, client records, payments, and secure communications too, the two are designed to work seamlessly together. Open TinctureTally as a sidebar widget, build a prescription in seconds, and copy it straight into your session note in two clicks.

Yes — TinctureTally is completely free to use, with no subscription, no credit card required, and no hidden limits. It's built and maintained by the team behind Konfidens as a free tool for the herbalist community. Create your account and start tracking your dispensary in minutes.
Two reasons, and we'd rather be upfront about both. First, we genuinely believe herbalists deserve professional tools that respect the years they've spent training — and we didn't think the answer should cost £30 a month. Second, we're the team behind Konfidens, and we hope that some of the herbalists who find TinctureTally useful will want to explore Konfidens for the rest of their practice management too. TinctureTally is free, fully functional, and useful on its own — but if it introduces you to Konfidens, that works out well for us too. We think that's a fair deal worth being honest about.
The best app is the one you enjoy using. Many inventory tools are built for retail or manufacturing and don't understand how herbalists actually work — with tinctures measured in mL, dried herbs in grams, supplier-specific product details, and formulas dispensed per client. TinctureTally was designed from the ground up for clinical herbalists, with fields for botanical name, ratio, alcohol percentage, plant part, and supplier built in as standard. We think TinctureTally is the best inventory management software for herbalists — but the final verdict is up to you.
TinctureTally replaces the manual spreadsheet workflow entirely. When you dispense a formula, you build it ingredient by ingredient in the app — it subtracts the correct amounts from your inventory automatically, logs the dispense against a client ID, and generates a formatted recipe ready to copy into your consultation notes. No manual updates, no risk of forgetting to log a bottle.
Yes. Each product in TinctureTally is set to either mL (for tinctures, fluid extracts, oils, and hydrosols) or grams (for dried herbs). When you build a herbal infusion, you add dried herbs with their plant parts and gram amounts, and the app tracks everything in the correct unit. Stock levels, low-stock thresholds, and restock logs all respect the unit you've set per product.
TinctureTally is designed with data privacy in mind. The app uses client IDs rather than client names — you decide what those IDs mean and how they map to your client records in your EHR. This means your dispensing log in TinctureTally contains no personally identifiable information. Your product and dispensing data is stored securely and is only accessible to your own account. As a practitioner, you remain the data controller for your own records; TinctureTally processes data on your behalf as a data processor.
Yes — TinctureTally is designed to work alongside any EHR, not replace it. When you log a dispense, the app generates a clean, formatted prescription text you can copy and paste directly into your consultation notes. If you use Konfidens to manage your practice, the formatted output pastes in two clicks. The app does not connect to or sync with any external system — it sits alongside your existing practice software as a dedicated dispensary tool.
Yes. TinctureTally supports CSV import for your product database. Download the import template from within the app, fill in your products — botanical name, supplier, current stock, unit, low-stock threshold, and other optional fields — and upload it to populate your account in one go. Most herbalists are up and running with their full product list in 15–30 minutes.
For most herbalists, 15–30 minutes covers the full setup: importing or entering your product list, adding your suppliers, and logging your current stock levels. After that, day-to-day use is a matter of seconds per dispense or restock. There's no configuration, no onboarding call, and no learning curve — if you know how to use a web browser, you can use TinctureTally.
Yes. TinctureTally is designed for qualified practitioners and student herbalists alike. If you're in clinical training and managing your own dispensary, the app works exactly the same way. There are no restrictions based on professional registration status.
When your stock runs low, TinctureTally identifies which products are below their threshold and groups them by supplier. It then generates a plain-text order email for each supplier — listing the products you need to reorder — which you can copy and paste directly into an email. Each product in your database is linked to a supplier, so the grouping is automatic.
A Tincture Formula is a liquid prescription — a blend of tinctures, fluid extracts, oils, or hydrosols measured in mL. A Herbal Infusion is a dried herb blend measured in grams, typically prepared as a tea. TinctureTally treats these separately because they use different units and generate different EHR text. When dispensing, you choose which type you're making, and the app adjusts accordingly.
TinctureTally is available to herbalists everywhere — the app is in English, but there are no restrictions on where you practise. You can set your preferred currency in Settings so cost prices and stock values reflect your local context. Whether you're based in the UK, Ireland, Australia, South Africa, or anywhere else, the core workflow is the same. TinctureTally stores no client information whatsoever — dispensing records use anonymous client IDs, so no names, contact details, or personal data ever enter the system. This makes TinctureTally compatible with privacy regulations in every country, including GDPR in the UK and EU, without any additional configuration.
TinctureTally is built by the team behind Konfidens, an EHR and practice management platform for private practitioners. It was created in response to a clear gap in the market: qualified herbalists needed a dedicated, professional-grade dispensary management tool that understood how herbal medicine practice actually works. It's free because we believe the herbal medicine community deserves good software.
